A man was a servant in the temple. His job was to clean the temple. Some of the donations given by devotees and devotees would be given to him by the priest of the temple. This is how he was living.
He was very upset and sad with his life. While working in the temple, he used to complain about his life throughout the day. One day while complaining he said to God, “Lord! How easy is your life? You just have to stand comfortably in one place. Look at my life What a difficult life I am living. I work hard throughout the day, then somewhere I get the bread of June 2. I wish my life was like yours.
After listening to him, God said, “It is not as you are thinking. Living in my place is not easy at all. I have to see many things. Many arrangements have to be made. This is not in everyone’s capacity.
“Lord! How are you talking? Your job is easy. Like you, I too can stand all day long. What’s the big deal in that?” The servant of the temple spoke.
“You will not be able to. This work requires a lot of patience. God spoke.
“Sure I can. You let me live your life for a day. I will do as you tell me. The servant of the temple started insisting.
In front of his stubbornness, God agreed and said, “Okay. Today you live my life the whole day. I live your life But to live my life you have to accept some conditions.
“I am ready to accept every condition, Lord.” The servant spoke.
“Ok. So listen carefully. Many people will come to the temple throughout the day and will say many things to you. Some will say good things to you, some bad. You have to stand silently like a statue and listen patiently to everyone and do not react to them.”
The servant agreed. God and he swapped their lives for a day. The servant stood like an idol instead of God. God left from there after finishing the work of cleaning the temple.
After some time a rich businessman came to the temple. Praying to God, he said, “Lord! I am putting up a new factory. Bless me that this factory runs well and I earn good profit from it.
After praying, he bent down to bow down, then his wallet fell. When he started leaving there, the servant of the temple standing in place of God felt like telling him that his wallet had fallen. But according to the condition he had to remain silent. That’s why he didn’t say anything and stood silently.
Soon after this a poor man came there and said to God, “Lord! I am living life in extreme poverty. To feed the family. Mother’s medicine has to be arranged. I can’t understand how to do all this. Look today, I have only 1 rupee. What can I do with this? You yourself do some miracle and arrange money for me.
After praying, as soon as he was about to leave, he saw the merchant’s wallet fallen down. He picked up the wallet and thanked God and said, “God bless you. You answered my prayer so soon. With this money my family can have food for a few days. Mother’s medicine will also be arranged.
Thanking God, he started leaving from there. Then the servant of the temple who became God felt like telling him that the wallet belonged to the businessman. I haven’t given it to him. What he is doing is theft. But he was compelled to remain silent. That’s why I stood silently beating my heart.
The third person who came to the temple was a boatman. He was going on a sea voyage for 15 days. He prayed to God that his journey should be safe and he could come back safely.
He was praying that the rich businessman came there. He also brought the police with him. Seeing the boatman, he said to the police, “He has come to the temple after me. Surely he must have stolen my wallet. You arrest him.
The police caught hold of the boatman and started taking him away. The man who became God could not tolerate this injustice happening in front of him. As per the condition he had to remain silent. But he felt that a lot had gone wrong. If I remain silent now, an innocent man will have to suffer in vain.
He broke his silence and said, “You are taking the wrong person away.” This wallet was not stolen by this sailor, but by the poor man who came before him. I am God and I have seen everything.
How can the police not listen to God? Heeding his advice, he released the boatman and caught hold of the poor man who had taken the wallet.
When God came back in the evening, the servant of the temple narrated the whole day’s story and proudly told him that today I have prevented injustice from happening to a person. See how well I have done today by living your life.
After listening to him, God said, “What have you done? I told you to stand silently like a statue. But by not doing so, you spoiled my whole plan. That rich merchant has earned so much money by bad deeds. If the poor man had got some of that money, he would have been benefited and the sins of the businessman would also have been reduced. The sailor whom you have sent on sea voyage, now he will not be able to come back alive. A big storm is going to come in the sea. If he had stayed in jail for a few days, at least he would have survived.
Hearing this, the servant realized that he was only able to see what was happening in front of his eyes. He was unable to see the reality behind all of them. Whereas God takes into consideration every aspect of life and makes his plans and runs the lives of the people.
Moral Of The Story – We all also do not understand the plans of God. When something wrong is happening to us or something is not happening according to our wish, we lose our patience and start blaming God. We do not understand that behind all this some plan of God is hidden. In such times, we need to have patience by having faith in God. So don’t worry. If something is not happening according to your wish, it means that it is happening according to God’s wish and even if it is late, everything is good because of God’s wish.
