Mahadev, the God of Gods, is considered to be very innocent, hence one of his names is Bholenath. According to mythological belief, there is no need for any kind of special worship to please Lord Shankar. Because it is said that he is innocent and he becomes happy only with a moment’s devotion done from the heart of the devotee. If you also fast on Mondays of Sawan to get the devotion and grace of Shiva, then you can please Bholenath with this story.

The Moneylender Got The Boon Of Having A Child

Once upon a time there was a moneylender in a city. There was no dearth of money in his house but he was very sad because of not having any child. In order to have a child, he used to fast every Monday and worshiped Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati by going to the Shiva temple with full devotion. Seeing his devotion, one day Mother Parvati was pleased and requested Lord Shiva to fulfill the wishes of the moneylender.

On the request of Parvati ji, Lord Shiva said that ‘O Parvati, every living being in this world gets the fruits of his deeds and he has to suffer whatever is in his fate’, but seeing the devotion of the moneylender, Parvati ji agreed to fulfill his wishes. expressed his desire to On the request of Mother Parvati, Shivji gave the boon of having a son to the moneylender, but he told that this child will live only for 12 years.

Moneylender’s Son Got Married Like This

The moneylender was listening to the conversation of Mother Parvati and Lord Shiva, so he was neither happy nor sad about this. He continued worshiping Lord Shiva as before. After some time the moneylender’s wife gave birth to a son. When that boy turned eleven years old, he was sent to Kashi to study. The moneylender called the son’s maternal uncle and gave him a lot of money and said that you take this child to get Kashi Vidya. You people go on performing Yagya on the way and giving food and dakshina to the Brahmins.

Both the maternal uncle and nephew went to the city of Kashi, performing Yagya and giving donations to the Brahmins. During this night there was a city where the daughter of the king of the city was to be married, but the prince she was about to marry was blind with one eye.

The prince’s father thought to hide the fact that his son was deaf, why shouldn’t he make the moneylender’s son a bridegroom and marry the princess. After marriage, I will give her money and send her away and take the princess to my city. The boy was dressed as a bridegroom and married to the princess.

Moneylender’s Son Lost His Life

The moneylender’s son was honest. He didn’t like this thing, so he took the opportunity to write on the princess’s dupatta that ‘ you are married to me, but the prince with whom you will be sent is blind with one eye. I am going to study at Kashi.’ When the princess read the words written on the chunni, she told this to her parents. The king did not bid farewell to his daughter, then the procession went back.

On the other hand, the moneylender’s son and his maternal uncle reached Kashi and went there and performed a yagya. On the day when the boy turned 12 years old, a yagya was organized. The boy told his maternal uncle that he was not feeling well. Uncle said that you go inside and take rest. As per the boon of Shivji, that child’s life passed away in a short time.

Seeing the dead nephew, his maternal uncle started mourning. Coincidentally at the same time Shivji and Mother Parvati were going from there. Parvati Mata said to Bholenath – Swami, I cannot tolerate the sound of his crying, you must remove the suffering of this person.

The Moneylender’s Son Came Alive By The Grace Of Lord Shiva

When Shivji went near the dead child, he said that this is the son of the same moneylender, whom I had given a boon at the age of 12, now his age has been completed, but Mother Parvati, overwhelmed with maternal feelings, said that O Mahadev, you Please give more life to this child, otherwise his parents will also die in agony due to his separation.

On the repeated request of Mother Parvati, Lord Shiva blessed the boy to be alive. By the grace of Lord Shiva, that boy became alive. After completing his education, the boy went back to his city with his maternal uncle. Walking both reached the same city, where he got married. In that city also he organized a yagya. The boy’s father-in-law recognized him and took him to the palace and took care of him and sent his daughter away.

Everyone’s Wishes Come True

Here the moneylender and his wife were waiting for their son, being hungry and thirsty. He had vowed that if he got the news of his son’s death, he would also give up his life, but he was very happy to get the news of his son’s survival.

The same night, Lord Shiva appeared in the moneylender’s dream and said – O Shresthi, I have granted long life to your son by being pleased with your fasting on Mondays and listening to the story. Similarly, whoever fasts on Monday or listens and reads the story, all his sorrows go away and all his wishes are fulfilled.
